PASTOR EMERITUS MARTHA L. JOHNSON

Pastor Emeritus Martha L. Johnson served as the Senior Pastor of Compassion Christian Center, Bakersfield, California from 1995 to March 4, 2018. Pastor Emeritus Johnson, one of ten children, was born in the City of Lawton Oklahoma. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and has a lifetime Teaching Credential. She married Ted M. Johnson on June 17, 1967, is the mother of three daughters and the grandmother of five. Pastor Emeritus Johnson taught for 32 years in the Bakersfield City School District and expanded Agapeland Christian Academy to include Elementary education.

Pastor Emeritus Johnson is an anointed woman of God with a special anointing in the areas of healing and teaching and she has a big heart for the community. In December 2016 Pastor Martha announced her “season” as the Senior Pastor of CCC was coming to an end. 2017 was a year of transition and restructuring. On Sunday, March 4, 2018, Pastor Martha “passed the baton” of Senior Pastor to Pastor Roland B. Banks and on Friday, April 6, 2018 Pastor Roland was officially installed as the Pastor of Compassion Christian Center.
